Multivariate Normal Distribution and Confidence Ellipses

چکیده

the Normal Distribution's familiar "bell curve". The latter term can be interpreted as a description of squared of distance (x  between some value of x who's probability is being assessed (along the x axis), and  the center of the probability density distribution, "standardized" by the distribution's known variance 2. It should be noted that f(x) only depends on this single scalar range variable x, and as such, is "onedimensional".

Invariant Empirical Bayes Confidence Interval for Mean Vector of Normal Distribution and its Generalization for Exponential Family

Based on a given Bayesian model of multivariate normal with  known variance matrix we will find an empirical Bayes confidence interval for the mean vector components which have normal distribution. We will find this empirical Bayes confidence interval as a conditional form on ancillary statistic. In both cases (i.e.  conditional and unconditional empirical Bayes confidence interval), the empiri...

Constructing a Confidence Interval for Quantiles of Normal Distribution‎, ‎one and Two Population

‎In this paper‎, ‎in order to establish a confidence interval (general and shortest) for quantiles of normal distribution in the case of one population‎, ‎we present a pivotal quantity that has non-central t distribution‎. ‎In the case of two independent normal populations‎, ‎we construct a confidence interval for the difference quantiles based on the generalized pivotal quantity and introduce ...

Inferences on the Generalized Variance under Normality

Generalized variance is applied for determination of dispersion in a multivariate population and is a successful measure for concentration of multivariate data. In this article, we consider constructing confidence interval and testing the hypotheses about generalized variance in a multivariate normal distribution and give a computational approach. Simulation studies are performed to compare thi...

Confidence Limits for the Indirect Effect: Distribution of the Product and Resampling Methods.

The most commonly used method to test an indirect effect is to divide the estimate of the indirect effect by its standard error and compare the resulting z statistic with a critical value from the standard normal distribution. Confidence limits for the indirect effect are also typically based on critical values from the standard normal distribution. This article uses a simulation study to demon...
